DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - ABUSER INTERVENTION PROGRAM

 

Purpose:

The Abuser Intervention Program increases the safety of domestic violence victims, their families, and the community by:
  • Teaching accountability to the men and women who batter
  •  Providing referral services to abuse victims and their families
Program Features:
  • Certified by the State of Maryland, Governor's Family Violence Council
  • Utilizes National Abuser Intervention Curricula
  • Group and individual sessions for children of domestic violence
  • Female Abuser Intervention Groups (1st in Baltimore County)
  • Aftercare program
  • Fatherhood Initiative
  • Affordable Rates and Sliding Fee Scale
Collaboration
Guided Visions Counseling Center facilitates collaboration with local law enforcement and victim assistance agencies to coordinate and provide appropriate services to all individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

Collaboration Efforts Include:
  • Regular assessment to referring agencies
  • Complete and full cooperation with law enforcement that adheres to state and Federal guidelines
  • Immediate reporting of abuse
  • Proof of completion to appropriate agencies and victims
Registration Process

Participants may be registered by either of the following:
  • Referrals from local agencies
  • Self-referrals
Guided Visions believes that domestic violence is a learned behavior that can be unlearned (changed).
